Scared of booting up and taking to the ice with your little one? Are they pestering you about coming but the idea of skating fills you with dread? Or do you just want give your young one a head start at ice skating? Then our Penguin Club is for you!

 

Penguin Club is iceSheffield’s own parent and toddler group on ice! For half an hour every week over a block of six you get a dedicated teacher (two if more than five in a class) and you learn the basics of ice skating! Everyone leaves at the end of the block with a certificate, Bronze, Silver or Gold, to take home and show to your family and friends, and even Mum or Dad learn a trick or two!

 

The bottom of the ice pad is cordoned off and is full of penguin skating aids, balls, hockey sticks and other interactive toys to help the little ones find their feet. There’s a no pressure approach and the aim of the session is for them to learn skating through play. Full lessons plans are in use so each session is structured but still fun as games are the main focus.

 

As your child goes through the levels they learn skills and skating moves that can be transferred straight to our Skate UK programme which they can join when they reach the age of five. So if your little one wishes to become a mini Torvill or Dean we give the right help to let them smoothly progress to become a little figure skater or even hockey player!

 

The Penguin Club runs on Monday’s and Friday’s on our quiet Skools Out session, 16.30-17.00. These six week blocks are £33.00 with a lifeCARD and gets you all this:

 

  • 6 X Half an hour coached lesson on private section of ice
  • Free skate hire for yourself and your child
  • Free access to the session straight after your lesson, from 17:00-17:30
  • Free certificate for the child to take home to say they’ve passed Bronze, Silver or Gold
  • Free access to penguin skating aids on the session straight after your lesson
